Lisa Shapiro wins Elisabeth of Bohemia prize

Congratulations to Lisa Shapiro, winner of the first Ulrike Detmers Elisabeth of Bohemia and Herford Prize, awarded for outstanding work on the philosopher Princess Elisabeth of Bohemia, Abbess of Herford (1618-1680). Lisa's work on Elisabeth includes The Correspondence between Princess Elisabeth of Bohemia and René Descartes (2007), which is part of the Chicago University Press series The Other Voice in Early Modern Europe, which also published Judith Zinsser's edited collection of Du Châtelet's scientific writings (translated by Bour and Zinsser). The award committee was: Ruth Hagengruber, Sarah Hutton, Dominik Perler, and Ulrike Detmers (who is the donor for the prize).
